In recognition that times are changing, we appreciate that not all school leavers will have the means or the interest in pursuing a university degree. For those who are both ambitious and academically strong we would like to offer an alternative - an opportunity to study towards a professional qualification while gaining both practical industry experience and earning a salary. Due to the success of the Programme which was introduced in 2011, in September 2016 we will be looking to start further school leavers on the ACCA Foundation Diploma qualification through our Finance Apprenticeship. This will be a 3 year programme during which we will support the students through this qualification, whilst developing both their technical and soft skills within a work environment. The ACCA qualification provides students with practical accounting and financial skills while developing their grasp of business. It is designed to give students expertise that they can use in the real world, an opportunity to learn the theory of accounting while putting it into practice too. Minimum criteria for the programme is: 4 Higher Grades at BBBC (1 sitting) or 4 Higher Grades at BBBB (2 sittings) or equivalent, including Maths and English. Maths must be at a grade B minimum.
