The Directorate for Energy and Climate Change consists of around 100 staff, based in Glasgow and Edinburgh. The Energy Division is responsible to the Minister for Business, Energy & Tourism and to the Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Constitution & Economy as well as to Environment, Infrastructure and Housing Ministers. It reports to DG Enterprise, Environment and Innovation.

What might a typical day in this job look like?
The post sits in the Low Carbon Infrastructure Transition Programme Team within the Heat and Energy Efficiency Unit. The Low Carbon Infrastructure Transition Programme (LCITP), is a Scotland wide, cross sector project development unit, established to support the development and acceleration of low carbon infrastructure projects to investment readiness stage.
The principle aim of the LCITP is to contribute to the Scottish Government's long term target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 42% by 2020 and reduce energy demands.

Applicants must be 16-24 years old, unemployed or contracted to work 16 hours or less a week, and a resident in Scotland. Please state you meet these requirements on your application.
No qualifications are required, however a National 4 and 5 in English and Maths or equivalent is desirable.
