An exciting opportunity has arisen within our commercial team for a Trainee Scheduler. The vacancy is based at our Head Office, 99 Eanhill Road, Greenock and the successful candidate will report directly to the Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will receive full training in the development of robust and cost-effective route planning schedules and driver duty schedules. You will also be exposed to analysis work around bus route performance from an operational and financial perspective. Applicants should be highly numerate, computer literate and organised, showing a high attention to detail. You will also need to be competent in the use of Microsoft packages, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook. The role also requires you to have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, together with an ability to build positive working relationships within and outside McGill’s buses. We’d expect you to be educated to a Higher/HNC/HND level and have a good awareness of local geography and an understanding of local bus service operations. The successful candidate will be a motivated team player, who can work effectively in using their initiative to solve problems. A full car driving licence would be an advantage, but not an essential.
